The Daniel Orjiako Foundation held its 2nd Annual Awards Dinner Dance fundraiser at the Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood, Massachusetts on April 21, 2007.  The night was filled with fun and laughter, friendship and good will, good food and music, and greeting old friends and making new ones.  The brilliant colors worn by many of the female guests added to the elegant setting, as did the displays of African cloth and photo collages of the Foundation's Programs in Africa.

This year the evening included a Silent Auction with items up for bid including sports memorabilia, mini vacations, African artwork, and themed gift baskets.   Bidding was hottest on the HD television donated by the generous folks at Running Solutions.   Another intriguing item that garnered a lot of attention was the inticately carved "Oche Nkpata", A Titled Man's Footstool.

Four very special people were recognized with the 2007 Daniel Orjiako Foundation Award:  Cate Howard, Michael Robinson, and Rick and Marie Lariviere.  All of the guests were touched by the stories of their generous and response to others in need.

The date and venue for the 3rd Annual Awards Dinner Dance Fundraiser is already set for March 29, 2008 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood, Massachusetts.  Check back to the website for information about how to reserve your tickets, or contact us now to add your name and address to our Contact List.
